Project Manager

 

The Evaluation and Training Institute, a non-profit research and consulting firm with over 40 years of experience in third-party evaluations of educational and social service programs, is seeking an experienced research project manager (PM). The PM will work closely with senior staff to develop business and design, develop, and direct evaluations of education, social service programs and other related projects. This individual MUST be able to conduct and interpret statistical analyses and have strong expository writing skills.

Duties will include: running large-scale research projects from design to completion; communicating with stakeholders, including state and federal agencies, non-profit leadership, and community groups; presenting research findings to multiple audiences at the national and local levels; and, managing and supervising research staff.

Candidates must be responsible, professional and have demonstrated experience managing projects and meeting deadlines. Previous experience working in educational program evaluation is a prerequisite. This is a great opportunity to be part of a dynamic and agile applied educational research team.

Required Education, Experience, and Skills:

  • Ph.D. or Masters Degree in evaluation research, education, social science research, psychology, or other related discipline.

  • A minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience planning, designing, budgeting, managing, and directing evaluations of education and/or social service programs using all research designs (experimental, quasi-experimental, mixed-methods, etc.) and evaluation approaches and methods.

  • Demonstrated experience in quantitative and qualitative instrument development.

  • Demonstrated ability to apply and interpret advanced statistical analyses, especially multiple regression and related multivariate techniques.

  • Demonstrated success in writing proposals and producing quality research reports and materials.

  • Experience in communicating research findings, both written and orally, to diverse stakeholder groups.

  • Ability to conduct multiple projects concurrently, both independently and as a member of a team.

  • Experience working with other staff, program stakeholders, and clients.

  • Strong analytical skills and oral and written communication skills.

  • Proficient in SPSS or other statistical software (such as R, STATA, or others), Microsoft Office Suite, with advanced skills using Microsoft Excel for data analysis and manipulation.

Research Associate

 

The Evaluation and Training Institute (ETI), a non-profit research and consulting firm with over 40 years of experience running educational program evaluations for federal, state and local agencies, is seeking a Research Assistant (RA) to be part of an educational research team conducting studies on a variety of educational topics.

 

The RA will help conduct research tasks, including: recruiting research participants for inclusion in studies, coordinating testing and assessment activities, doing data processing and data entry tasks, and project management activities (including regularly scheduled meetings with project supervisors).

 

Candidates must be responsible, professional and have demonstrated experience managing projects and meeting deadlines. Previous experience working in educational program evaluation is a plus. This is a great opportunity to be part of a dynamic and agile applied educational research team.

 

Required Education, Experience, and Skills:

 

  • Experience in program evaluation and education, social science research, psychology, or other related disciplines.

  • Demonstrated success in project management and the ability to stay organized and meet tight deadlines.

  • Experience working with diverse stakeholder groups, such as parents of young children, day care organizations or related life experience

  • Strong analytical skills and oral and written communication skills.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications.

  • Experience working with young children is a plus.

  • Master's Degree in social welfare, psychology or education is a plus.

Intern

 

The Evaluation and Training Institute (ETI) is offering rolling internships to qualified candidates who will support our research teams. This paid Internship is a part-time, temporary employment opportunity averaging 20 hours per week (possibly more during the summer) for a graduate or postgraduate student. 

 

Current master's level and above students will be paid $20.00 per hour.  Interns shall be classified as temporary, part-time employees who are hired as interim replacements, to temporarily supplement the workforce, or to assist in the completion of a specific project and who are temporarily scheduled to work less than ETI’s full-time schedule for a limited duration. Employment beyond any initially stated period does not in any way imply a change in employment status. Temporary, part-time workers are not eligible for ETI’s benefits.  

 

Intern tasks may include the following: 

  • Helping conduct an evaluation project from conceptualization to dissemination  

  • Literature reviews

  • Data collection

  • Data management 

  • Data analysis (descriptive data analyses; qualitative analysis of transcripts, open-ended survey text, or other written information; synthesizing data/information from various sources, including published literature)

  • Data visualization (developing charts, figures, slides, and infographics) 

  • Writing with the potential to be a co-author (depending on skill level)
